HRRN BEGINS MORE THAN 15 HOURS OF KENTUCKY OAKS AND DERBY COVERAGE TUESDAY
 
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, Kentucky and official radio home of the 2018 Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships returns to Churchill Downs in Louisville to provide extensive week-long coverage of the Kentucky Oaks (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1).
 
HRRN’s Derby week programming begins Tuesday, May 1 with the first of three “Derby Countdown” shows presented by Jimmy John’s of Lexington. Hosted by Jude Feld and Gabby Gaudet, each show airs from 7:30-9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and includes interviews with owners, trainers, jockeys and handicappers live from the backside of Churchill Downs. Listeners can tune in on HANK 96.1 FM in Lexington along with live streaming and podcast archives of each show provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. WLCL 93.9 FM in Louisville will air the Derby Countdown show on taped delay each day beginning at noon ET.
 
Tuesday evening, The Kentucky Derby Trainers Dinner will be streamed live on HRRN website, courtesy of the KTA/KTOB, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The evening offers a fun setting of revelry and humor with several Kentucky Derby trainers speaking about their entrants.
 
Kentucky Oaks day coverage begins at 3:00 p.m. ET with a special Derby edition of the network’s weekly handicapping show, the NYRA Bets Weekend Stakes Preview, followed by exclusive coverage of the 144th Kentucky Oaks, presented by Twinspires.com at 4:00 p.m. ET on Sirius 219/XM 201 with live streaming available at www.horseracingradio.net.
 
Kentucky Derby day kicks off with a special Derby day edition of “the show that launched a network,” the Equine Forum, in its weekly time slot 8-10 a.m. ET on Sirius 219/XM 201, followed by live Kentucky Derby undercard coverage, presented by Twinspires.com from 2-5 PM ET on SiriusXM 93.
 
HRRN’s broadcast of the 144th Kentucky Derby, produced in partnership with NBC Sports and Westwood One, airs 5:00-7:30 p.m. ET on SiriusXM 93 and terrestrial affiliates around the country. All Oaks and Derby day broadcasts will also be available via live streaming provided at www.horseracingradio.net.
