HRRN PREAKNESS STAKES COVERAGE BEGINS WEDNESDAY WITH POST POSITION DRAW LIVE FROM PIMLICO
Coverage to include special Maryland Thoroughbred Industry Showcase,
Black Eyed Susan and 141st Preakness
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the 2016 Triple Crown, announced today they will return to Pimlico Race Course with exclusive radio coverage of the
141st Preakness Stakes for the ninth consecutive year.
HRRN‘s on-site coverage begins Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET with a special one hour program showcasing the Maryland Thoroughbred industry followed by live coverage of the Preakness Post Position Draw from 5:00-6:00 p.m. ET. Both shows are presented by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association and can be heard throughout North America on Sirius 220/XM 206 with live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
On Friday, HRRN presents live coverage of the 92nd Black Eyed Susan (G2) beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET before returning Saturday with a full slate of Preakness day broadcasts culminating with exclusive coverage of the 141st Preakness Stakes (G1) from 5:00-7:30 p.m. ET produced in partnership with NBC Sports and Westwood One.
HRRN’s Preakness day schedule begins with the network’s popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum presented by farmpaint.com, hosted live from Pimlico from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET before returning at 2:00 p.m. ET with live coverage of the Preakness day undercard stakes. All Saturday broadcasts will air nationwide on SiriusXM channel 93 along with HRRN affiliates across the country and be streamed live on the HRRN website. Streaming is available on computers, smart phones and mobile devices.
HRRN’s Mike Penna will anchor the broadcasts along with analysts Jude Feld and Kurt Becker. Jeff Bloom and Tom Leach will provide trackside reports and interviews with NBC announcer Larry Collmus and Pimlico announcer Dave Rodman providing the call of the races.
