HRRN TO EXPAND POPULAR SATURDAY MORNING EQUINE FORUM SHOW TO 3 HOURS
LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 16, 2021) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, today announced plans to expand their popular Saturday morning Equine Forum talk show. Beginning Saturday, January 30, the Equine Forum will grow to a new 3-hour format airing from 8:00-11:00 a.m. ET.
For more than 15 years, the network’s flagship program has been heard from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET, providing listeners with interviews and conversation focused on the hottest topics in thoroughbred racing.
“We refer to the Equine Forum as the show that launched a network,” said HRRN president and Equine Forum host Mike Penna. “When I first sat down behind a microphone in 2003, this was the show I was part of along with my mentor Pete Kules. At the time it was only a one hour show airing on a single AM station in Lexington, KY. Shortly thereafter, we expanded the show to the current two-hour format which has allowed us to grow in ways I never imagined.”
“The new three-hour format will give us even greater opportunities to include new, innovative segments and features to showcase so many of the wonderful stories associated with our sport.”
The Equine Forum can be heard every Saturday morning throughout North America on Sirius 219 and XM 201 along with local affiliates in Kentucky, HANK 96.1 in Lexington and ESPN 680 in Louisville. In addition, listeners can tune in each week with live streaming and an archived podcast of the show available on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
