HRRN BEGINS WEEKLONG CELEBRATION OF SATURDAY’S FOUR GRADE 1 RACES WITH A SPECIAL ‘WOODBINE WEEK’
LEXINGTON, KY (September 9, 2024) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today they will pay tribute to a quartet of Grade 1 races slated to be contested at Woodbine on Saturday afternoon with a special ‘Woodbine Week’ dedicated to celebrating the history of the prestigious stakes.
Woodbine’s Saturday program includes six graded stakes highlighted by four Grade 1 turf races; the E.P. Taylor (G1) for fillies and mares at ten furlongs, the Woodbine Mile (G1) for three-year-old’s and up at a distance of one mile, and a pair of eight furlong stakes for juveniles, the Summer Stakes (G1) for males, and the Natalma (G1) for fillies. The Woodbine Mile, Summer Stakes and Natalma are part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series with winners awarded and automatic and free entry into the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on November 1 and 2 at Del Mar.
Over the next 5 days, HRRN will recognize notable equine and human stars to have won the prestigious races by reliving memorable moments with replays of past running’s and interviews with various connections. HRRN plans to showcase ‘Woodbine Week’ on the network’s full platform of shows, as well as on their social media pages, website and e-newsletters leading up to Saturday’s races.
