HRRN BEGINS “SATURDAYS AT SARATOGA” BROADCAST SERIES JULY 23

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, announced Thursday they will once again broadcast live from historic Saratoga Race Course every Saturday throughout the 2016 race meet with exclusive radio coverage of the meets major stakes races.
The seven week “Saturdays at Saratoga” series, presented by visitbarbados.org, kicks off with the Grade 1 Diana on July 23 and concludes with a pair of Grade 1 races on September 3, the Woodward and Spinaway, a ‘Win and You’re In’ event for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Filly division.
Other major stakes slated to be broadcast by HRRN include the Grade 2 Jim Dandy on July 30 and a multitude of Grade 1’s including the Whitney on August 6, Alabama on August 20, and the 147th running of the Travers Stakes on Saturday, August 27. Coverage of the Travers Stakes will also be presented by Sunrise Stallions. In total, HRRN will provide coverage of twenty graded stakes throughout the 2016 race meet.
Broadcasts will be available throughout North America on SiriusXM channel 93 as well as on various terrestrial affiliates across the country and via live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. HRRN’s live stream can also be accessed on smart phones, tablets and mobile devices.
Coverage of the Jim Dandy on July 30 and the Travers on August 27 will also be broadcast in Spanish on the new HRRN en Español platform available via live streaming on the HRRN website and on the Spanish racing website, www.elpotroroberto.com.
Mike Penna will anchor the coverage along with analysts Jude Feld and Anthony Stabile. Acacia Courtney will provide paddock commentary and interviews with NYRA announcer Larry Collmus providing the call of each race.
Penna and Feld will also host HRRN’s popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum, live from Saratoga. The show can be heard from 8-10 a.m. ET on SiriusXM 93 as well as on HRRN affiliates in Lexington, Louisville and across the country, and is streamed worldwide and podcast on the HRRN website.
