HRRN ANNOUNCES FULL SLATE OF KENTUCKY DERBY WEEK PROGRAMMING
Coverage Begins Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET with Derby Countdown Show
LEXINGTON, KY (Aug. 12, 2020) – Beginning Tuesday morning with the first of three “Derby Countdown” shows, Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN) launches extensive week-long coverage of the 146th Kentucky Oaks (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1).
The award-winning broadcast organization and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, HRRN plans more than 14 hours of Oaks and Derby programming culminating with exclusive radio coverage of the Run for the Roses on Saturday, September 5 produced in partnership with NBC Sports Audio Network.
The Derby week schedule kicks off with a trio of “Derby Countdown” shows airing from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. Hosted by Bobby Neuman and Jude Feld, the shows can be heard on Sirius 216/XM 203 with live streaming and podcast archives provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. Each show features interviews with owners, trainers, jockeys, and handicappers along with the latest training updates on Oaks and Derby horses.
On Friday, HRRN’s Oaks day coverage begins at 3:00 p.m. ET with a special edition of the network’s “Race Day” show followed by a 2-hour broadcast of the 146th Kentucky Oaks from 4:00-6:00 p.m. ET presented by Twinspires.com on Sirius 219/XM 201 with live streaming available at www.horseracingradio.net. A special Kentucky Derby edition of the NYRA Bets Weekend Stakes Preview hosted by Anthony Stabile and Bobby Neuman will follow the Oaks broadcast at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Derby day begins with HRRN’s popular Saturday morning talk show, the Equine Forum, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET followed by live coverage of the Kentucky Derby undercard stakes presented by Twinspires.com at 4:00 p.m. ET. Both shows can be heard on Sirius 219/XM 201.
Undercard coverage will be followed by HRRN’s exclusive 2-hour broadcast of the 146th Kentucky Derby from 5:30-7:30 p.m. ET. Produced in partnership with NBC Sports Audio Network, the broadcast airs nationwide on Sirius 219/XM 201 along with a multitude of terrestrial affiliates across the country.

Mike Penna will anchor the Derby day coverage along with analysts Kurt Becker, Tom Leach and Bobby Neuman. NBC announcer Larry Collmus will provide live race calls.
