CHARLES TOWN CLASSIC, VIRGINIA DERBY TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON HRRN THIS WEEK

 

 

LEXINGTON, KY (August 26, 2021) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, Kentucky and official radio home of the 2021 Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, returns to Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races for the tenth consecutive year on Friday, August 27, to provide exclusive radio coverage of the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic and Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET. 

 

Coverage can be heard throughout North America on Sirius 218/XM 201.  Digital listeners can tune in with live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.  

 

Following Friday’s coverage of the Classic, HRRN will make a return trip to Colonial Downs in New Kent, VA for the network’s broadcast of the Grade 3 Virginia Derby on Tuesday, August 31, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. ET. 

 

The broadcast, presented by the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, is available on Sirius 219/XM 201 and streaming live on the HRRN website.  Mike Penna will anchor both broadcasts alongside analyst Bobby Neuman.  Charles Town announcer Paul Espinosa will provide the live call of the Oaks and Classic, with Colonial’s Jason Beem calling the Virginia Derby.

 

The broadcasts serve as bookends to a busy 5 days of programming on HRRN which also includes the network’s flagship show, the Equine Forum presented by Woodbine Entertainment, on Saturday morning from 8-11 a.m. ET.  Penna welcomes a multitude of guests to preview Saratoga’s Mid-Summer Derby, the Travers Stakes and look ahead to the Virginia Derby.  The Equine Forum can be heard on Sirius 219/XM 201 and online at www.horseracingradio.net.
