BELMONT WEEK IS ‘A.P. INDY WEEK’ ON HRRN
Special week presented by Keeneland Sales will honor 1992 Belmont Stakes winner and Horse of the Year
LEXINGTON, KY (June 3, 2024) – Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today they will celebrate the accomplishments of 1992 Horse of the Year A.P. Indy leading up to Saturday’s renewal of the Belmont Stakes.
‘A.P. Indy Week’ presented by Keeneland Sales begins Monday, June 3 through Belmont Stakes Day, June 8. Throughout the week, HRRN will pay tribute to A.P. Indy across their full platform of shows, as well as on the network’s social media pages, website and e-newsletters. Listeners will enjoy replays of his biggest wins along with interviews and conversations looking back on his racing career.

A.P. Indy topped the prestigious Keeneland July select yearling sale in 1990 commanding a final bid of $2.9 million. Consigned by Lane’s End, the son of Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew was purchased by BBA (Ireland). Racing in the colors of owner Tomonori Tsurumaki, he would record 8 wins from 11 starts with earnings of $2,979,815 for Hall of Fame trainer Neil Drysdale. In July 1992, his breeders William S. Farish III and William Kilroy bought back an interest in the colt. A.P. Indy would culminate his Hall of Fame career with a victory in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) before retiring to stud at Lanes End Farm.
