2018 HRRN SCHEDULE FEATURES LIVE COVERAGE OF MORE THAN 125 GRADED STAKES
Season Begins with $16 Million Pegasus World Cup Saturday
 
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, returns to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida this Saturday to begin the network’s 15th year of broadcasting the sports biggest races on radio.
 
HRRN’s coverage of the $16 million Pegasus World Cup begins at 4:00 p.m. ET and launches an ambitious 2018 race broadcast schedule which includes live coverage of more than 125 graded stakes including all three legs of the Triple Crown and the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. For the third consecutive year, HRRN’s exclusive Triple Crown broadcasts will be produced in partnership with NBC Sports and Westwood One.
 
Saturday’s Pegasus World Cup broadcast, presented by the New York Breeding and Development Fund, can be heard worldwide with live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net and throughout central Kentucky on 93.9 FM in Louisville, KY. Mike Penna will anchor the coverage along with analysts Jude Feld and Dan Mason with former jockey Jeff Bloom providing paddock interviews and commentary.
 
Listeners can get ready for the big day by tuning in to HRRN’s weekly Saturday morning talk show, the Equine Forum, hosted live from Gulfstream from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET. The Equine Forum airs nationwide on Sirius 219/XM 206
along with terrestrial affiliates across the country and is streamed live and podcast on the HRRN website.
 
Other notable races broadcast live on HRRN this year include the Charles Town Classic, Wood Memorial, Blue Grass Stakes, Santa Anita Derby, Kentucky Oaks, Whitney Stakes, Travers Stakes, and Jockey Club Gold Cup along with
on-site coverage of two major international events, the Barbados Gold Cup from Garrison Savannah in Barbados and the Queen’s Plate from Woodbine Racetrack in Ontario, Canada.
 
The network will once again provide coverage of more than 30 Breeders’ Cup Challenge races beginning in early June as part of their popular “Road to the Breeders’ Cup” broadcast series.
