158th QUEEN’S PLATE TO BE BROADCAST LIVE FROMCANADA ON HRRN SUNDAY

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the U.S. Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, announced Thursday, they will broadcast the 158th running of the Queen’s Plate, the first jewel in Canada’s Triple Crown, live from Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, on Sunday, July 2.
 
Coverage of “The Gallop for the Guineas” is presented by TwinSpires.com and begins at 4:00 PM ET with the $125,000 Singspiel (G3) at a mile and a half on the turf. The $175,000 Dance Smartly (G2) for fillies and mares going a mile and a quarter on the grass will follow. Sunday afternoon’s classic event, the $1 million Queen’s Plate, with a scheduled post time of 5:36 PM ET, culminates the program. Host Mike Penna will be joined by analysts Jude Feld and Jeff Bloom, with Woodbine track announcer Robert Geller providing the race calls. The broadcast airs throughout North America on SiriusXM channel 93 and will be streamed live on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
 
In addition, HRRN will host a special Queen’s Plate edition of their popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum, live from Woodbine on Saturday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ET. The Equine Forum, presented by Kentucky Downs, airs nationwide on Sirius 219/XM 206 along with terrestrial affiliates across the country and is streamed live and podcast on the HRRN website.
