WVTBA to be Presenting Sponsor of Broadcast
Charles Town, WV (February 26, 2013) – Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races announced today that it has reached an agreement with Horse Racing Radio Network (“HRRN”), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, Kentucky, to provide the live, on-site radio broadcast for the $1,500,000 Charles Town Classic (G2) on April 20. In addition to being on-site at Charles Town for the first time, HRRN will be welcoming a new sponsor into the fold as the West Virginia Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association will present coverage of the two-hour show.
HRRN’s Charles Town Classic broadcast, presented by the West Virginia Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association can be heard nationwide on SiriusXM, select HRRN affiliates and will be available worldwide via live streaming on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. Network will Launch “Road to the Kentucky Derby Series” Beginning February 23
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced Wednesday they have reached an agreement with all three Triple Crown racetracks for HRRN to provide the national radio broadcast of the 2013 Triple Crown. Having reached an agreement with Churchill Downs Incorporated, HRRN will provide the exclusive broadcast of both the 139th Kentucky Oaks on Friday, May 3, and the 139th Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands on Saturday May 4. HRRN will then travel to Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD for coverage of the 138th Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18 and return to New York for the “Test of the Champion”, the 145th Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 8.
For the third consecutive year HRRN has been named the exclusive radio partner of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, and has provided the exclusive national broadcast the Preakness Stakes since 2008 along with the Belmont Stakes five of the past six years.
In addition, HRRN will host a series of eleven broadcasts showcasing major Kentucky Derby prep races included in the new points qualifying system. The “Road to the Kentucky Derby” series begins Saturday, February 23 with exclusive coverage of the Fountain of Youth (G2) and Risen Star Stakes (G2), the first two races in the Kentucky Derby Championship Series, and concludes with the Derby Trial (G3) on opening night of Churchill’s spring meet, Saturday, April 27. Trainer Chad Stewart has been on a tear since the Tampa Bay Downs meeting opened in early December, scoring with 35 percent of his starters, 8 winners in total. Every horse of his has to be seriously considered. At first glance it looked he might add to that impressive win total with Misidentified in the finale (race 10) on Wednesday, January 9.
The Singletary mare was making her second start off a layoff, had a race over the track, and was getting a switch to 15% rider Jose Garcia. She came up solid on the class and speed figures and was a competitive 3rd on the BRIS Prime Power Rating. Best of all, based on her debut, it looked like she could sit a good trip in this weak field of $8,000 maiden claiming runners. Read more

TVG’s Christina Blacker Joins HRRN Broadcast Team
Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced Monday it will provide 20 hours of on-site Breeders’ Cup coverage live from Santa Anita Park beginning Tuesday, October 30.
HRRN’s coverage kicks off Tuesday morning with the network’s popular Breeders’ Cup Countdown Show hosted live from Santa Anita’s Clockers’ Corner from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET.
