PODCASTING 101

How do I hear the show?

There are a number of ways to listen to recordings of the Equine Forum.

Streaming

In order to listen to a recording immediately, click on the Listen link.

The mp3 format requires that you have Windows Media Player or other mp3 capable player installed on your computer.  Current versions are available at microsoft.com.

Downloading

Downloading allows listeners to keep a copy of the recording, allowing them to transfer the file to a portable audio device like an Ipod.

Different computer systems behave differently.  For best success, right-click on the download link and select SAVE TARGET AS.  You may select where on your computer you would like to save this file.  Select a location that you can easily find, like MY DOCUMENTS.

RSS Podcast Feeds

A podcast basically consists of an MP3 file and a text file called an RSS feed. RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication," and the file tells Yahoo! Podcasts and other podcatchers, like iTunes, how to find and get your podcast. An RSS feed also lets people subscribe to your podcast and automatically get updates of your new content.

The Equine Forum is working to implement RSS feeds.  However, if you have made it to this site, you can download the mp3 file from here and forgot about RSS feeds.
