Equine Forum Podcast - October 31st
In hour 1 of today’s show, Mike is joined by Dr. Doug Beebe from OCD Pellets and Keeneland track announcer Kurt Becker. Hear Dr. Beebe discuss bone health and the benefit of OCD Pellets, and Mike and Kurt take a look ahead to next weeks Breeders’ Cup. In hour 2, Steve Castagnola (Kempton Bloodstock), Michael Hernon (Gainesway), and John Gasper (Vinery) join the Baron to handicap Keeneland’s Grade 2 Fayette Stakes and preview several Breeders’ Cup races.

Keeneland Feature Race Live on HRRN
HRRN TO PROVIDE LIVE COVERAGE OF KEENELAND FEATURE RACES
Network Plans 4 Hours of Coverage Opening Weekend
The Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN) announced Wednesday, it will broadcast live from Keeneland each racing day during the fall meet beginning Friday, October 9th, to provide live coverage of Keeneland’s feature races. HRRN’s coverage will include extended broadcasts on all three days of opening weekend, showcasing nine graded stakes, including the Darley Alcibiades (G1), Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), Dixiana Breeders’ Futurity (G1), First Lady (G1), and Spinster (G1), as well as on the following two Saturday’s, October 17 and 24.
Fans can tune-in to the HRRN broadcasts on various affiliates throughout Kentucky, and worldwide with free live streaming available on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. Affiliate information is also available on the HRRN site.
The opening Fall Stars weekend coverage, begins Friday from 5:30-6:30 ET, and continues with 2 hours on Saturday from 4-6 ET, and Sunday from 5:00-6:00 ET. Mike Penna and Pete Kules will anchor the HRRN coverage.
Fans are encouraged to bring their radio headsets to the races and tune-in to the coverage each day on HRRN’s flagship station, WLXO 96.1 FM, in Lexington.
In addition to the race coverage, HRRN will also host its popular Saturday morning talk show, the Equine Forum, live from Keeneland. The Equine Forum airs from 8-10 a.m. ET and can be heard on WLXO 96.1 FM in Lexington, KY, as well as free live streaming at www.horseracingradio.net.

On today’s Equine Forum, Mike is joined by Rolly Hoyt as they host the show live from Belmont Park to preview Super Saturday. Hour #1 features a lively debate over who should be Horse of the Year, and interviews with special guests Tom Durkin (NYRA Announcer) & Dan Silver (NYRA Director of Communications). In Hour #2, Mike & Rolly discuss the impact running the Breeders’ Cup on an artificial surface has had on Belmont’s Super Saturday card, and Mike Willman (Santa Anita Director of Publicity) talks about their Breeders’ Cup Preview day (10/10), and gives his thoughts on the TVG/Oak Tree conflict.

The Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN) announced today, it will host three hours coverage for the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup live from Belmont Park this Saturday. HRRN’s coverage can be heard from 3:00 – 6:00 ET, and will also include all four grade 1 races on the undercard, the Vosburgh, Beldame, Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, and Flower Bowl Invitational.
Mike Penna and Rolly Hoyt will anchor the HRRN broadcast with Sean Clancy providing paddock commentary.
Fans can tune-in on HRRN affiliates, and listen worldwide with free live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.
